November Allure vs. Sephora !Play beauty box spoilers – which one wins?

This month, spoilers for both boxes have come out early and both are going with variations: 2 variations for Allure and at least 2 for Sephora. Box #1 from Allure is okay while box #2 is really cheap (fingers crossed I don’t get this version 😦 Allure subscription has gone downhill gradually ever since the amazing May box. I will cancel it after January, 2017. The Sephora box however, has been improving in my opinion in the past few months, maybe because the number of people who unsubscribe has been increasing. Overall, the Sephora November beauty box offers better value than the Allure one ($9.99 vs. $16+ with tax).

Sephora November 2016 !Play beauty box version 1 spoiler:

  • Cover FX Illuminating Primer (I’ve heard good things about this)
  • The Estee Edit Dissolve the Drama (this is an effective makeup remover)
  • Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour (nice!)
  • Sephora Collection Ultra Shine Lip Gel
  • GLAMGLOW SUPERMUD Clearing Treatment (no longer a fan of this. It’s too harsh for my skin in the winter time)
  • Stella McCartney POP

Allure November 2016 beauty box #1 spoiler – the better box:

  • Avene Hydrance Riche Cream (okay)
  • Klorane Shampoo with Olive Extract (good)
  • Red Flower Icelandic Moonflower Moisturizing Body Lotion
  • Bonvivant Alone Sheet Mask (FYI this is probably the least expensive Korean sheet mask, costing less than $1 per sheet. It feels cheap for Allure to include this when it has access to so many other brands’ samples. It used to include nice sheet mask samples from Leaders. Downhill…)
  • Eyeko Eye Do Liquid Eyeliner (Deluxe Size)
  • Bulgari Fragrance – Omnia Crystalline

Allure November 2016 beauty box #2 spoiler – this one sucks in my opinion (sorry for being harsh)

  • Seche Top Coat Mini (don’t need another top coat)
  • Seche Color – Refined Red OR Goddess Silver (don’t need another red color, and not a fan of a silver polish)
  • Red Flower Icelandic Moonflower Moisturizing Body Lotion
  • Bonvivant Alone Sheet Mask (cheap…)
  • Eyeko Eye Do Liquid Eyeliner Deluxe (this is probably the only thing in the box that’s worth a second look)
  • Bulgari Fragrance – Omnia Crystalline
